This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. We have recently isolated a complex, known as the exocyst, which is required for the final stage of membrane traffic on the yeast secretory pathway. While the 8 components of the complex were identified a few years ago, it is clear that a number of additional proteins interact with the exocyst complex to control its assembly or function.
