This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The study aims to investigate the effect of inherited factors as well as environmental components on the development of coronary artery disease and coronary collaterals. The study is still in the recruitment phase and no genetic analysis has been performed. We will continue to recruit patients. In the future we will type candidate genes in order to test their effect on the phenotypes.
