MEASUREMENT OF VASCULAR COMPLIANCE IN CHILDREN WITH HYPERTENSION

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. Investigators will measure the pulse wave velocity (PWV) of children with hypertension and measure the PWV in a population of children with hypertension who have undergone renal transplantation. Investigators will then evaluate whether high blood pressure and diminshed nighttime dip in blood pressure is associated with changes in the arteries as measured by PWV.
