This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. Segments of the ductus deferens (DD) and renal collecting ducts (CD) express transport proteins for both solute absorption and secretion, and respond to neurohumoral modulators, indicating that these epithelia have capacities for regulated bidirectional ion transport.
