This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. One of the goals of the INBRE is to provide the 6 undergraduate instutions with start-up equipment funds to assist faculty and students with research needs. These funds will allow faculty the oppotunity to purchase equipment which will in turn make them more competitive when applying for grants. The students at these instutitons also will learn valuable tools and get to experience a research culture at their undergraduate institutions that might not otherwise be available to them.
