英文摘要
Core C, the Administrative Core, directed by the Program Director, Jeffrey Gordon, aided by a skilled and experienced grants manager, an administrative assistant, and a web designer-manager,will be responsible br (i) maintaining oversight of all expenditures related to this grant, and (ii) facilitating communications involving personnel located at the three sites, including travel to semi-annual and annual retreats. We recognize that a key challenge for a three-site P01is to ensure that communicationsoccur in a timely and continuous manner among participants. The administrative core will facilitatethis processas follows. It will responsible for maintaining a website that provides a description of our programproject, plus a listing (with photos, e-mail addresses, phone/fax numbers, and research interests) of all program participants. The website will also be used for deposition of published papers relevant to work being performed by members of this P01: these articles will serve as a valuable 'living library' for the ongoing education of all who are planning, performing, and interpreting experimentsrelated to Projects 1-3and Cores A/B. The core will use ZWiki to establish a site where members from the different projects and cores can work together on manuscripts. A portion of the website will also be reserved for deposition of relevant datasets, data summaries, and agendas for every other week phone conferencesthat will occur betweeneach of the Pis and core directors. Core C will help arrange more extensive virtual 'labmeetings' that will take place each month, via conference call, between personnel at each site. The agenda for these lab meetings will be developed during the course of the bi-weekly phone calls held between the Pis. Data for discussion, including power-point presentations, will be deposited on the website, and viewed using smart-screens installed in conferencerooms at each of the three sites and cores that form this program project. Thecore will arrange a one-day semi-annual retreat, to be held at Washington University (WU) or TIGR and involving the Pis plus key program participants. The agenda for these semi-annual retreats will be developed during the course of the bi-weekly and monthly teleconferences. The core will also organize an annual, 1.5-day long program project retreat that would include members of our 'external advisory committee'. It will be held at WU or TIGR (on alternating years) and involve presentations of all aspects of the P01by relevant membersof each group. An eveningposter-session, held on the night before the meeting, will provide a forum so that an expanded groupofstudents and post-docs canpresent their data.
