This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The "MS-CombiRx trial" is an ongoing study supported by NINDS. Its goal is to identify biomarkers (by gene- and protein expression profiling, single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) haplotype determination, HLA typing) and link these with clinical- and MRI phenotypes in a large cohort (1000) of relapsing remitting (RR-) MS patients and to examine how these biomarkers distinguish MS patients and healthy, matched controls.
