英文摘要
This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. AIDS Clinical Trials Group Study 362 is a multicenter, long-term natural history study to assess metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurologic complications in subjects with a past CD4 count <50 cells/mm3 who increased to >100 cells/mm3 on antiretroviral therapy. The primary objectives for ACTG 362 are: Cardiovascular/Metabolic: to examine the incidence and prevalence, and changes over time of hypertension, insulin resistance, abnormal fasting glucose, and the metabolic syndrome in subjects on long-term antiretroviral therapy (ART). Opportunistic Infections: to examine the incidence of opportunistic infections, describe their clinical presentations, and correlate their incidence and clinical presentations with markers of immune reconstitution and virological control. Neurology: to examine the incidence and prevalence, and changes in these measures over time, of cognitive impairment and peripheral neuropathy as ascertained by a screening neuropsychologic and neurologic examination.
