The primary aim of the ALLRT (AIDS Clinical Trials Group Study 5001) multicenter protocol is to determine the long-term (4 years or longer) virologic, immunologic, and clinical outcomes and complications associated with the success or failure of prolonged use of potent antiretroviral therapies to achieve or maintain durable suppression of HIV-1 replication to levels below the limit of detection.
