MODULATION OF TECHNETIUM-99M MEBROFENIN HEPATIC TRANSPORT TO RITONAVIR

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. This will be an open-label, randomized, crossover clinical study in male and female healthy volunteers of any ethnicity investigating the effect of a single dose of ritonavir, a known modulator of hepatic transport activity, on the disposition of Technetium Tc-99m mebrofenin. The use of the gamma emitter Technetium Tc-99 mebrofenin will allow real-time assessment of biliary excretion, gallbladder ejection fraction, and the efficiency of bile collection.
