This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. This will be an open-label, randomized, crossover clinical study in male and female healthy volunteers of any ethnicity investigating the effect of a single dose of ritonavir, a known modulator of hepatic transport activity, on the disposition of Technetium Tc-99m mebrofenin. The use of the gamma emitter Technetium Tc-99 mebrofenin will allow real-time assessment of biliary excretion, gallbladder ejection fraction, and the efficiency of bile collection.
