英文摘要
The overall goal of this project is to develop a commercially viable software system (PROCareLinks) designed for the specific problems and challenges of providing optimal care to terminally ill patients, addressing the management of pain and other symptoms, with quality of life as an integrative metric. A core purpose for the system is communication with, and between patients and their families, professional care providers, administrators, and researchers. Based on HL7, CDISC, and caBIG models and standards, and an existing web application platform, the underlying technology will enable integration, interoperability, and ongoing adaptability to evolving knowledge and best practices. The software architecture will be web-based, starting with PC browser-based user interfaces in Phase I. In Phase II, other interface modalities can be assessed; a main option is internet-independent devices in the home, for example a wearable wireless device to simplify rating of pain. The key component functional areas (modules) include: patient reported assessment over time in different settings, tailored interface displays and automated reporting functions, protocol-based decision support with individual variation, and scheduling and resource management.
