英文摘要
This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. This study is a follow up companion study to GCRC#2330, a Phase III, randomized, placebo-controlled efficacy and safety study of the anti-sickling agent ICA-17043. When subjects complete the randomized trial, they will be given the opportunity to enroll in this open label extension study that will examine the long-term safety of ICA-17043 (i.e., when administered for more than one year) in patients with sickle cell disease.
