This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the
resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and
investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,
and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is
for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.
The overarching aim of this study is to establish normative values for a wide variety of physiological and psychological factors that likely confer susceptibility to disease as well as resiliency. Secondary goals of the proposed study are to evaluate intra-assay and temporal stability of putative markers, as well as evaluate whether sub clinical measures of organ-system disease correlate with these novel risk markers in a putatively healthy population. To accomplish these aims, a large group of multi-disciplinary investigators propose to evaluate a slough of factors in 288 apparently healthy adults between the ages of 30 and 90 years (balanced for sex, ethnicity and age by decade).
