英文摘要
The NIH Medical Genetics and Genomic Medicine Training Program is the home of seven distinct clinical and laboratory training programs leading to eligibility for certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics.
The training program brings together the expertise from a distinguished collection of genetics and other health care professionals throughout the metropolitan areas of Washington DC, Baltimore and northern Virginia creating the most diverse and largest medical genetics and genomic training program in the world. The distinguished Faculty includes well over 200 professionals from the various training sites. Since 1995 when NHGRI took over the program, more than 200 trainees have completed residencies and/or fellowships in these specialties.
This program is nationally recognized for both its depth and breadth of training in genetics as well as the number of trainees it has produced. The program proudly includes a diverse group of trainees coming from many different backgrounds reflecting not only the diversity within the United States but also that of the world. The elite research setting of the National Institutes of Health provide Fellows with a unique opportunity to do research during their training optimizing their potential to be future leaders in the world of genetics and genomics.
