NSF supports two capabilities at ANSTO. The first, the Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering (ACNS), provides high-energy neutron beam instruments for the characterisation of a variety of different materials. The second, the Centre for Accelerator Science (CAS), provides ion beam analysis and accelerator mass spectrometry to identify and analyse the chemical make-up of samples. These capabilities facilitate research into health, sustainable environment, advanced energy technologies and advanced materials engineering.
