Ultra-high-resolution seismic reflection profiling is an important component of our ongoing marine geological research.  At Memorial University of Newfoundland we have a Huntec deep tow system which was manufactured ~30-35 years ago, but it is still one of the best ultra-high- resolution, shallow-penetration systems available today.  The Huntec deep tow system routinely provides 20-25 cm stratigraphic resolution, easily surpassing any "chirp" system. Presently many of the key components of our analogue system console are obsolete, but more importantly they can no longer be purchased, rendering repairs very difficult if not impossible. In this application we propose to purchase a digital system console for our existing Huntec deep tow system.  Without this equipment we would run the risk of failing to collect the best data-set possible (or any data at all!), after spending precious NSERC research funds, including Ship Time allocations.
