英文摘要
The purpose of this application is to acquire a multi-channel signal acquisition and real-time analyzer for efficient analyses of simultaneously measured responses of biological and mechanical systems. The proposed analyzer is essential for a number of team's studies, which will include: a) human responses to vibration, noise and combined noise and vibration, and to assess human exposure to workplace vibration and noise; b) multi-axes vibration environment of vehicles; c) multi-axes fluid-structure interactions applicable to tank trucks; d) noise induced in automobiles and rotating machinery; and e) dynamic analyses of free standing micro-structures. Primary justifications for multi-channels analyzer stem from the need to simultaneously measure and analyze the human responses to vibration in critical localized areas, and analyses of multi-axes transient slosh forces and moments in partly-filled tank trucks that are known to reduce the vehicle stability. The high degree of variabilities in measured human responses can be considerably reduced through real-time analyses of various measurands at different local segments and driving-points. This can be only realized with the proposed tool. The simultaneous analyses of transmitted vibration to various body segments together with available epidemiological data would provide significant insight on potential injury risks of particular sources of vibration, namely, types of hand-held power tools or nature of whole-body vibration. The studies on multi-axes slosh forces and moments are expected to provide alternate baffles designs for enhancing the directional stability limits of such vehicles. The proposed research tool will also be used in studies involving characterization of multi-axes vibration environment of vehicles for exposure assessments and control, human responses to coupled noise and vibration, and vibro-acoustic analyses of vehicles and rotating machinery. Apart from the above, the applicants will apply the proposed tool for dynamic response analyses of micro-structures.
