英文摘要
My research is fundamentally about the quantum theory of spins.   Spins are purely quantum entities with no classical limits.  Studying spins, therefore, gives insight into the most basic properties of quantum systems. My research has concentrated mainly on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). Experiments called spherical tensors-NMR (ST-NMR) can measure all the tensor polarization.  However the ST-NMR results do not distinguish how spins can couple and this will be clarified.  Spin, Clebsch-Gordan, algebra rapidly becomes unwieldy for many spins.  Yutsis diagrams can handle the algebra and provide a means of visualizing different spin processes. A natural progression of my research is to go deeper into some fundamental problems involving the interpretation of the wave function: a question that Einstein and Bohr debated.  Currently questions concern non-locality which is a consequence of quantum entanglement.  Two spins can form an entangled state and the correlations are purely quantum in nature.  These can violate of Bell's inequalities which leads to the concept of non-locality.  Non-locality is not understood. New technologies rely on entanglement, such as quantum teleportation, computation and cryptography. My approach is to use the statistical interpretation of the wave function to study entanglement.  Finally there is quantum information.  This is a relatively new field motivated by the above mentioned technologies.  All of these fields can be expounded by studying spin angular momentum. What is information?  This is not an easy question and most theories are concerned with the loss of information when transmitted, (usually using Shannon or von Neumann entropy).  Besides studying how information can be measured, we are interested in the different forms of information.  Two examples: when something explodes, the particles that fly apart are correlated by their initial conditions but there are no physical connections between them: this is nonphysical information.  On the other hand, information can be stored and transmitted from one place to another: this is physical information.  Quantum information is considered by some to be the most fundamental aspect of science.
