The proposed research is aimed at developing a decision support tool for modeling performance and identifying best practice within organizations. The model structure to be used is data envelopment analysis (DEA), which falls within the broader set of multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) methodologies. DEA research has spanned nearly three decades; the proposed program examines some of the major issues that have arisen in the process of applying DEA to real world problems. The long term objective of the research program is to facilitate more effective performance measurement and target setting in organizations. The tools to be developed will have applicability in a variety of settings
