英文摘要
The insect pathogenic nematode, Steinernema carpocapsae, is commercially produced as an envrionmentally safe biological insecticide to control pest insects of importance to forestry, agriculture and horticulture. The infective nematode stage, which carries a lethal bacterium (Xenorhabdus nematophilus) in its gut, seeks out the insects and enters the insect's blood. The bacteria are released, destroy the antibacterial defences of the blood and kill the insect. Lipopolysaccharides(LPS),which are toxic molecules on the bacteria surface, enter the blood damaging the blood cells and inhibiting antibacterial enzymes.
