Plants possess an amazing ability to withstand and adapt to stress. However, our understanding of plant responses is usually based on observations made long after the causal event has taken place. The long-term program on live-imaging of plants is based on the hypothesis that 'in order to survive, plants must have the ability to perceive and respond rapidly to environmental cues by making appropriate subcellular adjustments.' This proposal aims to uncover molecular and cell biological details of the little understood, rapid response machinery of plants.
