英文摘要
Many TV manufacturers are investing heavily in 3D television technology in order to bring the 3D experience found in theatres to the consumer market. Most 3D TVs available today require special glasses in order to see the stereoscopic image. Autostereoscopic screens, in contrast, bypass the requirement of additional eyewear. Such devices operate by emitting light rays at different angles, which allows the viewer's visual system to recreate 3D images without the need to wear special glasses. The two primary forms of autostereoscopic technology are multiview lenticular displays (MLD) and parallax barrier displays. This proposal relates to improvements to the software that renders content for a new parallax barrier display, taking advantage of performance enhancements available by executing code on the graphics processor unit.
