In this project, a new robotic technology will be developed to help farmers. This robot can help to destroy unwanted weeds, to seed small grains, to plant row crop precisely, and to pack planted seeds. By using this innovative technology in automated farming, Canadian agriculture manufacturers will be more competitive. Robots will be built to maneuver in a farm field and destroy weeds in an efficient and economical way, and perform other duties, to preserve our green environment. Scientific data will be generated by the computer simulation and experimentation, and will be compared. The result of this project will be a wheeled mobile robot and its robotics arm to help farmers to be more efficient and competitive. Since, this project is within the NSERC competitive manufacturing target area, this CRD application is the first step toward the overall project.
