英文摘要
The requested high speed imaging facility will enable two exciting investigations, i.e., study of oscillations of a drop in contact with a surface when a shearing airflow is present, and drop impact onto particles. Understanding the role that drop oscillation plays in dislodging (or shedding) a drop in presence of a shearing airflow is important for applications such as condensers, fuel cells and runback of drops and their ensuing freezing in icing of airfoils (in aeronautics or wind turbine applications). Particle drop impact is a core process in any fluidized bed spray interactions, e.g. upgrading of heavy oil in a fluid catalytic cracking reactor, or coating of drug particles.
