My long range goal is to design, develop and evaluate interactive information visualizations so that they support people's everyday work and social practices as they interact with information. My primary motivation is to promote information comprehension by creating appropriate tools that can help people negotiate the transformation of vast amounts of information into knowledge in people's everyday lives. Within this broad goal of making information more accessible and comprehensible, I will create new information visualizations and explore the challenge of effectively putting information visualizations on different sizes of personal displays. I will continue to ask fundamental questions about how to effectively visualize information in a manner that reveals its content, and makes it accessible and understandable. In particular I will:
