Reactive Olefin Prepolymers (ROP) can be processed in one-component or two-component formats to produce thermosetting materials. The technology has been demonstrated in the research lab and is considered to be a platform technology from which adhesives, sealants, coatings and molding products can be developed. The first product to be developed from this technology will be a heat activated reactive adhesive. This product will offer customers the ability to join difficult to bond substrates at a lower cost while improving manufacturing processes by substantially reducing reactive adhesive cure time. It will also eliminate the release of solvents and monomers during the cure process.
