英文摘要
Genetic variation is the underlying mechanism behind the vivid diversity of our own human species and of all other organisms. Understanding the mechanisms of how such genetic diversity is generated and how it leads to biological variations continues to be an intriguing and fundamental question in life science and has invaluable implications in medicine and agriculture. Transposable elements are a class of genetic elements existing in abundance in the genomes of most organisms and functioning as a major source of genetic diversity.
