英文摘要
In this proposed projects our aim is to understand how much attention is used in various tasks such as the antisaccade preparation, visual-auditory processing and visuo-motor performance. We have recently examined the parietofrontal network in a series of studies (DeSouza et al. 2003; Everling & DeSouza, 2005; Chan and DeSouza abstract 2009; 2010; Ovaysikia et al. 2011) and visual-auditory processing (Pynn & DeSouza SFN abstract 2010) and find preparatory signals are higher than control conditions. The question remains of how much attention is involved in these preparatory signals in frontal cortex? An additional question is what type of training (short or long-term) can make performance improve. We look at these questions using experts at converting stimuli from the environment into specialized visuomotor performance (guitarists and ballet dancers).
