Like most areas of research, biology is being revolutionized by computers. Massively parallel technologies can now routinely sequence the entire human genome with its over three billion nucleotides. Such huge amounts of data are unusable without highly advanced computational tools and their ability to organize, search and analyze. As part of this bioinformatics revolution, we propose several projects essential in keeping pace with the technological developments and in sustaining the speed of advances in biological research.
