For a building to provide the desired indoor environment at minimum cost in terms of energy and durability, flow of heat, air, and moisture (HAM) across the building envelope must be understood, measured and controlled. Moreover, in the current world quest to move buildings towards net-zero or even plus-energy energy, the building envelope is the main medium used to integrate solar technologies in order to generate as much energy as it is required to operate the building over the year.
