Collabative planning in value chain

In today's economy, most enterprises foresee their future through innovative and tighter integration to their suppliers, customers and partners forming a competitive value chain. The different levels of autonomy of the business units within the value chain raises the need for collaborative planning approaches in order to coordinate and synchronize the distributed activities needed to deliver the products and services to the end-customers. In this research, we study the impact of innovative web-based collaborative planning approaches that include collaborative workflows and distributed advanced planning processes and methods. Our aim is to link the respective planning domains of the enterprises constituting the value chain. Because the collaborative planning approaches within the value chain may result in different benefit/lost to the business units involved, this research program explore and study incentives and benefit sharing principles in order to help building sustainable collaboration within the value chain.
