The Chair will contribute to the forest sector by providing business and engineering analytical tools to design and plan forest value networks with the aim of increasing competitiveness of the forest sector while sustaining its ecosystem services. A holistic view of the forest value network provides ways to address challenging and complex multi-objective decision-making problems. The Chair aims to engage in collaborative planning with practical models and technology, recognizing the complexity of the multi-stakeholders decision processes. The goal is to reach expectations for an environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable use of the wood resources over time and space.
