The Emily Carr Centre for Moving Interaction (CMI) is a new 5 year program which brings together a Research Infrastructure, a talented research team, and local industrial participants. The applied research focuses on 3-D virtual worlds, games, and our interpretation of how they will evolve and merge over the next 5 years. We will be developing new modes of interaction with haptic, wearable, and gestural devices, and 3-D visualization and representation. The work will involve and be guided by visualization and gaming companies in the New Media sector in our community who will benefit from the results of this applied research.
