The objective of this research project is to investigate and propose a controller, to be attached to the roll-off deck portion, to automatically monitor its safe operation. . The main benefit of roll-off trailers is to reduce loading time and more flexibility in scheduling. Despite the relatively straight-forward operational procedure of roll-off trailers, their safe operation has become a concern for Waltron. It offers training sessions and guidelines on procedure on how to activate and safely perform the roll-off operation to its customers; however operator error happens regularly which results in equipment failure and accidents.
