Rapid growing single celled algae are a biomass source that can be used as feedstock for a variety of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, nutraceuticals, chemicals, animal feeds, and biofuels. Algae biomass production is trivial to accomplish but difficult to optimize. The high cost of algae biomass production currently prohibits the production of high volume, low value algae products like biofuels. AlgaBloom has developed an algae production system that has the potential to be less expensive to manufacture and deploy than comparable algae production systems. The company is working to apply this system to the production of algae biomass beginning with two pilot projects in British Columbia.
