Photobioreactors (PBR) for reliable and cost effective production of algae are affected by radiation input,growth medium temperature, and transport of nutrients. The need to dissipate heat results in numerous heavyand bulky heat sinks mounted in various locations around the reactor. Combined, the set of LED arrays andthermal management structures have a significant impact on PBR cost and weight. The goal of this project is toimprove the cost effectiveness of Industrial Plankton PBRs by optimizing the thermal and fluid dynamicaspects of the design.
