Mineral exploration is a pillar of Ontario's economy with a value of mineral production topping $9.2 billion in 2011, creating >100,000 jobs, billions in exports, hundreds of millions in government revenue, and a better standard of living for all Canadians. The Abitibi Greenstone Belt is the largest and most economically important Archean granite-greenstone terrane of the Canadian Shield and host to a major structural feature called the Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone ("PDFZ"). Numerous gold deposits occur in the vicinity of the PDFZ and related structures along its 450 kilometre length starting west of Timmins in Ontario, through Matheson, and eastward beyond Val d'Or in Québec. The fault zone was recognized in the early 1900's with the discovery of the major gold mines of the Timmins camp, such as the Dome, Hollinger, McIntyre, Pamour and Hoyle Pond mines. Along the PDFZ, over 110 million ounces of gold have been produced. St Andrew Goldfields Ltd. ("SAS") is a Canadian based gold mining and exploration Company with an extensive land package in the Timmins mining district. SAS is advancing its exploration activities on this exciting 120 km long package which straddles the PDFZ. SAS is using its extensive geological database to conduct targeted exploration at numerous sites and has focused the 2013 exploration program on areas that lie in close proximity to the existing mines and infrastructure to add to the resource and reserve levels. In 2011 the Company advanced the Taylor Project through the pre-feasibility stage. In order to remain competitive in a highly volatile industry, SAS recognizes the importance of gaining as much information as possible from their exploration efforts. Detailed work on the mineralogy, petrology, and geochemistry of mineralized zones at the Taylor Project will better help us understand the mineralizing system. This knowledge is critical to increasing the success of the company's exploration programs. By utilizing the advanced scientific tools proposed in this research partnership we expect to help SAS to be highly competitive in the marketplace, deliver increased shareholder value, and possibly help lead to increased resource discovery.
