The Problem: Tweed, Inc. is a new producer of high-quality prescription Cannabis sativa for patients suffering from a variety of health issues. One of the most influential environmental conditions to affect cannabinoid yield quality and quantity is lighting. In setting up their growth rooms, Tweed, Inc. is particularly interested in identifying a lighting system that will maximize yield. Significance of Problem: When restricted to growing indoors, as in the medical marihuana industry, growers must use supplemental lighting technologies to grow plants and manipulate photoperiods. Currently, there is a dizzying variety of lighting technologies available, with very sparse scientifically collected data comparing systems and their impact on crop yield (even outside Cannabis-specific operations).
