Cloud computing is growing in popularity as a paradigm for providing on-demand resources. Organizations are beginning to see clouds as an economical way of augmenting, or even replacing, their existing IT infrastructure. As a result, many organizations are considering moving their applications and data to a cloud environment in order to take advantage of its flexibility and potential cost savings. We anticipate that the fluidity of, and the competition within, the cloud computing market will grow as the technology matures, which will force providers to adopt a wider range of mechanisms, such as sale prices and incentives, to attract consumers. To take advantage of the evolving cloud market, consumers will demand technologies to evaluate provider offerings effectively and to migrate applications efficiently and transparently between providers.
