OBJECTIVES: This research aims to study sustainability-oriented measures for optimizing the use of major urban multimodal transportation corridors. A related objective is to investigate the land use and sustainability effects of telecommuting and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). The proposed research encompasses sustainability criteria of efficiency, equity, energy and emissions; new research in safety is beyond the scope of this application.
