In this project, we intend to apply deep learning methods to modelling financial events, including IPO, stock splitting and earning announcements, to improve prediction accuracy of stock or market trend immediately after such a relevant financial event occurs. Moreover, we will implement the deep models and the associated learning algorithms in the general-purpose GPU computing platform, to expedite the training procedure to deal with huge amount of available training data as well as accelerate the test method to be able to provide real-time or nearly real-time prediction for live market data. The proposed deep learning methods will be incorporated into a popular financial data search platform to evaluate their effectiveness and efficiency.
