Based on phytochemical discovery research, our team has successfully launched the Sin SustoTM anxiolytic product, an allopathic natural health product for Vet application as a calming and cortisol lowering agent in dogs. Feedback from veterinarians and our own data, indicates that new research is needed to answer aspects of quality assurance (agronomic and phytochemical standardization) safety evaluation (pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug interactions) and mode of action ( pharmacology). The discovery of the cortisol lowering activity of the active principle, betulinic acid, provides a lead compound for semi synthesis of a pipeline of potential pharmaceuticals for evaluation and application in Cushings disease and metabolic syndrome.
