The proposed gateway prototype will employ WiFi, Bluetooth, ZigBee and 6LoWPAN technologies and aggregate sensor data from the participating medical devices securely to the health care provider. The gateway will employ allow real time patient data acquisition. By adhering to industrial health device standards (Continua), interoperability will be achieved such that the gateway will accommodate devices made by many manufacturers. This research project will allow to form a partnership between RoweBots Limited of Waterloo, Ontario, and Wireless Communication and Information Processing Research Laboratory at the University of Windsor.
