Companies like Bentall Kennedy usually face serious challenges during the design and construction phase of building development projects. Consequently, new sets of tools have been recently developed to support the design phase of these projects. For instance, Building Information Modeling (BIM) software uses a 3D real-time object-oriented building modeling to achieve accurate projects with minimized costs. This research collaboration will focus on the definition of an advanced model representing the pedestrian influence in the Sun Life Financial Building in downtown Ottawa, during and after the construction of the proposed Light-Rail Transit System. To do so, a model will be created using and improved version of our existing framework. The necessary building properties will be extracted from numerous floor plans and other data will be collected from several reports generated by Capital Transit Partners on behalf of the city of Ottawa and will be provided by Bentall Kennedy experts. The simulation will be running using the Cell-DEVS formalism in Carleton's CD++ software, and the results of the simulation will be extracted for 3D visualization and analysis.
