The New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is applying for a $25,000 ARD Grant to help fund the collaboration between Dr. William McIver, NSERC Chair in Mobile First Technology and his partners at BMM Testlabs, the longest established private independent gaming certification lab in the world. The purpose of their applied research is to the develop hardware to increase efficiencies in the testing of electronic gaming machines. This ARD proposal will develop a test automation solution consisting of both hardware and software components that will enable BMM Testlabs to execute automated tests on an electronic gaming machine. It will create new intellectual property that can be transferred for educational purposes within NBCC and for knowledge transfer to the broader New Brunswick ICT community. This will include white papers, software samples, and tutorials that can be shared via the MFTI Web site. This project enables NBCC to partner with a global company to create a product that will allow an evolution in the compliance and quality assurance services provided to that industry. Staff and students in the Electronics Engineering and Information Technology departments will research, architect and lead the development of a solution which will only further bolster NBCC's expertise.
