A number of techniques have been used in attempt to improve safety and reliability of steel making process via early water vapor increase detection. Most of these techniques rely either on the neural network approach or classical detection algorithms, which heavily rely either on availability of training sets or well known statistical properties of detected signals. Neither of these techniques could be considered as satisfactory and a number of new approaches are required. The goal of this proposal is the preliminary investigation of time-frequency abnormality detection techniques and the organization of distributed learning and detection systems.
