We propose a new collaborative relationship between my research laboratory at UT and the Bio-Rad Research Laboratory at Mississauga, Ontario. Our work will focus on the company-specific problem of devising scalable manufacturing approaches for including conducting electrodes into hot embossed microfluidic devices.
Microfluidic devices manufactured in thermoplastic substrate materials become increasingly attractive, fueled in part by their scalable manufacturability using commercial hot embossing and injection molding processes. In the proposed project, we will systematically assess strategies for integrating electrodes into thermoplastic substrates.
