Regular updates to the Chrome software require extensive tests to ensure the quality of the software while
detecting unintended consequences as they may occur across a growing number of devices and software
environments. Internal logs provide information only on the internal state of the software but it remains
difficult to quantify the user experience across the various mobile devices available today (tablets,
smartphones, etc.). In an effort to further standardize tests, we proposed an automated test and video analysis
system that could capture the device screen and monitor a few visual events. The goal of this project is to
further increase the number of events being monitored and propose a software architecture that could execute
the tests, record them using a high speed camera, analyse the resulting video file and produce statistics about
the software performance.
