Gnowit Inc. commercializes products that perform AI-powered media monitoring management and analysis. Specifically, the company delivers effective news media and government transcripts monitoring in real-time, as they happen. The company offers powerful analysis of mentions, filtering out the noise, to provide actionable insights for different organizations. The company solutions and services are currently restricted to text-based media resources. Therefore, developing techniques and tools to monitor and analyze audio/video sources is next important research challenge. In this research, we intend to tackle this problem by applying automatic speech transcription technologies to audio/video sources in order to generate, index, analyze and report on real-time text transcripts of web, TV, radio and telephonic audio steams. We will start with the design and implementation of an information retrieval and analysis system for audio/viodeo streams from the Federal, Ontario, and Alberta websites, and the CPAC streams. This project will lead Gnowit to release a new line of premium multimedia-capable monitoring product, generate 4 highly-qualified jobs, and expand the market share for Gnowit. We also anticipate significant export opportunities in the US, Europe and the MENA region.
